VANCE ELEMENTARY
SCHOOL "PLANETORIUM"

Red Herring Puppets participated in The Ribbon of Hope grant from the
GlaxoSmithKline Foundation awarded to HandMade in America and Vance Elementary
School. As a NASA Explorer School, Vance Elementary has access to advice from
scientists, engineers, and educators.

Lisa Sturz and Robin Stevens built reinforced lightweight spheres that hang
from the auditorium ceiling representing the planets. All the rows in the
planetorium are renamed for objects in the solar system. Students researched
the planets and other solar phenomenon to create information charts that hang
by each row.
