" 'Well, what about the dragon?' asked a friend the day after the January 24 opening of LYRIC OPERA OF CHICAGO's Siegfried. 'If the dragon isn't any good, I'm not going.' Fortunately, I could assure him that the dragon was very good indeed........ Lyric's FAFNER, the creation of puppetmaster Lisa Aimee Sturz, is a giant reptilian skeleton requiring some 16 black-clad acrobats to manipulate its vertebrae and massive fanged jaws and head. "

William Shackelford, Opera Magazine (UK)

Lisa created the giant FAFNER who was slain by Siegfried while in the shape of a dragon.

Siegfried transforms from his dragon self, back into a giant in the moments before his death.
Lisa created and staged the movements for the woodbird who inspires SIegfried to understand and pursue his destiny. Here the woodbird gives Siegfrien a small kiss suggesting he find Brunhilde.
